Is it possible to learn Chinese alone without someone who know how to speak it, a chinese teacher or a friend? Even with tapes?

Hi, could someone tell me what is PRC Study? Does it mean People Republic of China Study?

I might be wrong but I've heard once a chinese friend saying that 眯眯 (mimi) could be used as a slang for "nipples". That might explain it.
But I asked other people who did'nt know.

Another point, can 马马虎虎 (mamahuhu) be considered as slang?
