Iloved using 爱情公寓 when I first moved to China. You can snag all of the episodes for free with a simple search on youku or tudo :)

Hey Adamcross, I'm pretty sure what you're hearing isn't an exception, but just people being more free with their speaking. It can often be difficult to pick the second and third tones apart from each other, so that might be what you're experiencing. Also, there will be many times where people don't...

I've found there is very little standardization when it comes to romanizing peoples' names. Not all Chinese people, especially those that are older, will use pinyin to transliterate their names. Hong in pinyin should become hung in wade-giles, though. Hum might have been a typo or simply just a tran...
