Cantonese and Toisanese (related dialect) are second to Mandarin.

It's possible that you're dealing with a problem with encoding. Try switching the encoding back to simplified characters. It may be that when the person typed it up that it was viewed in traditional but the actual encoding was simplified. Look at www.mandarintools.com and see the encoding converter....

Expressing deep affection explicitly is not something typically done in Chinese. As Dylan said, you can say "sehk" to express sort of parental affection, but otherwise you wouldn't say that. I find many Chinese who choose to express something like that default to an English word. e.g. /ngo...

The IME will let you input the characters. If you just want to view them you can just download Traditional Chinese Language Support from Windows Update. Netscape has a similar update available.
