you would say "m sai". doh zhe and m goi both sort of mean thank you except m goi is thank you for a job that someones done for you like if someone bags the things for you in a grocery store.

I don't think so. I speak taishanhua and I don't think I phlegm, the language at least to me seems to "flow" as you speak, and I don't speak with a drawl. Maybe you were listening to someone who is old and thats why you think that theres that type of accent.
