Re: 欢喜欢喜就好 (Hua Hee Everyday)

It is quite entertaining and uses the Hokkien commonly spoken in the Klang Valley.

Dear Site Adminstrator,

Your site has lately been invaded by too many spams. Hope something could be done to get rid of them & block new ones from coming in. Thanks.

Re: Let's fight to get Hokkien to be on Malaysian Media

I'm very 'hua hee' that my various complaints in the press & directly to the TV stations in the past, have in someway contributed to more Hokkien programmes being now shown over the Malaysian TV stations i.e. NTV7, 8TV & Astro Hua Hee Dai (Channel 333). What is however sorely missing are the...

Re: A Hokkien Stage Play In KLPAC

I went to KLPAC to watch the play but couldn't get any ticket. It was played to full house! Anyway, thanks to those for their great effort to put up the play to help promote the Hokkien language in some way. There must be many Hokkiens in KL who would love to watch the play in their own mother tongue.

Supression of Hoklo (Hokkien) language by the KMT Government

It came as a shock for me to learn that "Taiwan has proficiency certification system for every language including Mandarin, Hakka and indigenous languages, but not Hoklo (Taiwanese Hokkien)" which is the language of the overwhelming majority of Taiwanese. The scrapping by the Chinese Natio...

A truly beautiful message which shd be read by all Hokkiens

What a truly beautiful message which I think would be more pertinent to be posted under the thread "Taiwanese Hokkiens should unite to preserve their heritage (culture & language)". I believe this message would make quite an impact if it can be translated into Chinese and published in ...

Taiwanese Hokkiens should unite to preserve their heritage

My greatest fear of the Hokkien language & culture slowly dying even in Taiwan where Taiwanese Hokkiens form the overwhelming majority of the population seems to be coming true with the KMT gaining 3/4 control of the Taiwanese legislature lately which will give the Mainlanders in collaboration w...

Ya, you're right. The programmes are mainly from Taiwan. Where else can we get TV programmes in Hokkien and Hakka except in Taiwan? The Malaysian national TV network seems so pro-Cantonese when it comes to Chinese programming, maybe due to vested interest involved in the supply of the programmes mai...

Launch of dedicated Hokkien TV Channel (No.333) over Astro

Good news for Hokkiens and even Hakkas in Malaysia who have long been deprived of Chinese programmes in their own languages over the national and private TV networks whose Chinese programmes are largely in Cantonese though with increasing Mandarin contents. For your info, on 13th October, 2007, Astr...
