Hi Mr webmaster, Can you tell me as to the situation with the number of Hakka tones used in the site? I realize there are 8 tones used, but I am very unsure as to what the 8 tones are?? I am only familiar with Meixian Hakka tones, with six tones: 1 - high level 2 - low level 3 - low falling 4 - high...

Hi Ong
One of the things you sent me via email, I figured out that there were 8 tones in Hainanese just by looking at numbers 1-10 and other words. But, I found a video on YouTube that explained there are 6 tones in Hainanese.. Are they just different varieties of Hainanese or what?

Could people help me out with the following: Number 'one hundred' in Teochew.. I dont want 'hundred' translated.. I mean I want 'one hundred' translated. Yeh, there are more entries on 'Hainanese Chicken' than the Hainanese dialect itself!!

Hi
I'd like to get information on Hainanese language learning. There's hardly any on the net on Hainanese. Im a Philippine-Hokkien and interested in some of the other Chinese tongues such as Hainanese. Can anyone show me some info on the Hainanese tones/tonal system, for example?
