individual words definitely have its own meaning. But from the appearance of the words, it seems to me that it's manufactured by Japanese instead of Chinese. As you may know, the Hanzi (Chinese words) in Japanese are actually Chinese words. Japanese have adopted them from we Chinese many many years ...
