Are we talking in technolgy or as part of a language? It will never die out, it may slightly adapt but wont die out. It part of the culture and history of China and would be unthinkable to change it . However even now it is changing. More and more english words are part of the younger generation man...

You could do it on the cheap by planning it all yourself. However it depends on where you want to go. The trains are very cheap and so the transport around china is very cheap. For places to stay there is tons of Chinese people who would let you stay for free in exchange you chat to their daughters ...
