So only 'expert' can do this stuff, heh!
First of all, a dictionary can only provide you with pronunciation guide, I'll tell you why its not the best way, because only "expert" like you can pronounce it correctly, given the fact that your a Malaysian Chinese who can speak British English (RP received pronunciation) with correct diction and pronunciation. Of course, only expert like you can pronounce it correctly, while the rest of the Malaysian and Singaporean do create there our diction, which is the "perfect English". That make me a less expert, because my recommendation of using mp3 is less acceptation, because it free and you don't need convert the cdrom to other format, and on your second reply about prof. lin lunlun, can you please write your reply in plain English. Because, I so sorry grammar are out of this world.

First of all, will you please look up the meaning of swearing in your malaysian english dictionary before replying on this tread. Second, your siding with your malaysian pal here, who is accusing who? given the fact your pals reply is "this is a job for expert but not for you!" Third, what positive reply have you made other than attacking me? are all malaysian like this?

hong,

"if you think are already a minnan expert"
well I never mention I'm an expert here, and I'm sure not trying be one, but at least I made an effort to bring out this topic, and willing to take the initiative to make it happen, not like people like you trying to put other people down, it's just like "hey there is a coke cola already why make another pepsi or 非常可乐, are we living in a monopolistic society? that is what I see in you, sorry to say.

The thing is there are already experts out there doing the job.If you want to help people studying minnan, send free minnan books to people for free about books like minnan hua putonghua dict selling in HongKong. Many people in here are willing to study but don't want to invest any money.
You are talking about a job of producing recording of minnan literature of which can't be recited by normal minnan people even in China. Not many people study wen du sound. Are you sure you are getting the correct sound from them. This is a job can't be done perfectly even by students with PhD degree in minnan.
If I am rich,I will be sending minnan books to anyone in here. That is better than giving any kind of links.

First, why do you involve the emphasis of nationality in this issue? Why are you so sacarstic? If you don't like Hong's attitude you can always rebut, not swearing, not finger pointing. And how is the whole issue related to Malaysia?

Even if all the Malaysians are idiotic like me and Hong, is it by any bit relevant to the topic or the focus of discussions? Should I retaliate and say "are all Hong kong people, especially Hong Kong Min Nan like to talk irrelevant stuff"?

Certainly not. Forums for swearing and rows abound in the internet world. Talk anything about Hokkien in this website. Even if you really want to brand someone childish, perhaps it would be better if you type it in Hokkien pronounciation.

Hi Alo, Eng Wai, Hong & all :)

Hope that all of us can put aside all the misunderstandings.

While it's true that there are experts who can do better, I agree with Alo that if we have the chance and ability, we can do these kind of "amateur projects", which not necessarily of lesser quality. I think if experts and amateurs can work together, it'll be better. Experts can get more data and amateurs can become experts by learning from the experts. So Alo, I look forward to hearing more about this project.

Some people are polite even if they use a few swear-words, and some people can be quite rude even if they don't use swear words. I would rather people be polite and respect other people's views and intentions.
