variation of minnan in mp3
Re: variation of minnan in mp3
malaysian with chinese blood are hopeless. they're not malaysian or chinese. some identity problem!
Re: variation of minnan in mp3
"MALAYSIAN with CHINESE blood are hopeless. they're not malaysian or chinese. some identity problem!"
If they are not Malaysian, why do you call them Malaysian? If they are not Chinese why do they have Chinese blood? Who is hopeless and who has identity problem? The answer is simply obvious!
Stop this, ok? Even you change your name to "I'm polite" and "Malaysian", your identity is always betrayed by your location.
I doubt there will be people willing to assist your Minnan MP3 recording if you continue to behave like this. If you are really willing to promote Minnan language, culture, society, then participate in this forum more positively. If a Minnan society consists of such majority with this behaviour, I would rather it not to exist at all.
Chinese New Year is very close, save your extra energy for it.

Re: variation of minnan in mp3
Let me brief with some history...
Probably your grandparent's departed China long time ago, due to the exploitation of the Manchu's (Qing Dynasty) and British’s (Mostly English’s and Scot’s there is a possibility they have read “the Art of War” - turn your enemies against each other). Your grandparent’s plan to earn some money and go back to China, but this was disrupted due to the social and political unrest in China, which is of course between 共产党 and 国民堂 and after the Brit’s leave Malaysia, yet they can return to home because China is still in turmoil which everyone know by now are the 大跃进 and文化大革命. Here is the deal now that China is getting more better everyone seems to have this China fever, people like you who suddenly feel proud of themselves, yet you are literally born and raise Malaysia and have to respect the ‘local culture’ i.e. few if no intermarriage between the local and Chinese descent, you don’t respect their culture, I bet if I ask you to name some Malaysian prince’s you can’t even name one, you people are looking down on the native’s yet your staying in there land, “When in Rome do as Romans do”. The point is your not "Culture is not Chinese nor Native Malaysian", you can’t run for high government office, can’t run as Prime Minister, that is your always a subject to your native ruler, yet you sing your native national anthem, the reality is everything is belongs to the Malaysian natives, I bet inside there home they hate you guys, in which you bring disgrace to the real Chinese. Native Malaysian have to no idea about the Real China and I bet you as well. Which never set foot in it or just stay in China for a few days and thinks you seen it all……
“I doubt there will be people willing to assist your Minnan MP3 recording if you continue to behave like this.”
Well the truth to fact is, I can’t expect anything from you, which is of course very obvious, you’re illiterate in Minnanhua, (you try to learn few words here and there) what I’m trying to do is educate people who wanted to learn this language, of course your other Malaysian friend here thinks this job is reserve its for his Taiwanese friend ‘Prof Lin” whoever he is, and he seems obsess with everything Taiwan (the Taiwanese educator are so stupid, they even following the Japanese (Katakana or Hiragana whatever it is.. which is of course still derive from Chinese, that's another story) by creating there own Zhuyin, which is so stupid and difficult, which they latter "created" there own Pinyin "as we all know they copy China's pinyin and make some changes", btw it's so funny and stupid Malaysian have there own pinyin for reading Chinese - check this out!!!) , which I doubt he ever set foot on China (Fujian). To tell you the truth China terra-cotta warrior in Xian (do you know where is this place, oops so stupid of me, of course your not familiar with Chinese geography) was not unearthed by some famous anthropologist, but by a down to earth farmer, who happen to be digging for a well due to the drought in his village. Well to answer your question, which of course your not paying attention “I’m going to ask native speaker to record it from me” ? get that meaning I’m going to Fujian to record it! Understand !!! I don’t need you to help me is that clear!!??

Positively ?? I don’t see you contribute anything positively though, other that trashing the tread with some childish tread ‘La la li la tam pong’, ‘The origin of Mandarin’ and so on. Well to tell you the truth minnan society exist with or without you. But at least hundred of years afterward, (After China complete it’s Putonghua program ? same as USA and Ireland the native regional language cease to exist) people would look back and say hey some amateur did some recording of Minnanhua sometime between 2005-2006. Of course the oversea Chinese can’t do it because they can’t even read or write it, saving the fact we let those Taiwanese do it. Afterwards they have to let “Chen the man” record some putonghua, (for god sake those accent are horrible) that would be terrific. Just like asking an Indian or Scottish to record English.

Re: variation of minnan in mp3
I can choose to ignore you completely, but I think you will take this for granted as you have won the battle. I don't think so, thus here you go.
"Probably your grandparent's departed China long time ago, due to the exploitation of the Manchu's (Qing Dynasty) and British’s (Mostly English’s and Scot’s there is a possibility they have read “the Art of War” - turn your enemies against each other). Ya, my grandparents left China about nearly 80 years. So?
"Here is the deal now that China is getting more better everyone seems to have this China fever, people like you who suddenly feel proud of themselves, yet you are literally born and raise Malaysia and have to respect the ‘local culture’ i.e. few if no intermarriage between the local and Chinese descent, you don’t respect their culture, I bet if I ask you to name some Malaysian prince’s you can’t even name one, you people are looking down on the native’s yet your staying in there land, “When in Rome do as Romans do”. "
If my culture is not LOCAL culture, then what is it? Foreign culture? But you yourself say that I am BORN and RAISED in Malaysia. Make sure your writing is corresponding to what you think. I respect everyone's culture and language so long so as it is not forcibly enforced to the others, local or foreign, Chinese, Malay, Indian or indigenous. Perhaps I can tell you what happenned in recent months in Newcastle University, where everyone is not forced by the government to be assimilated to the Malay/Muslim world. The Malaysians had a Deepavali (Hindu/Tamil)& Hari Raya (Muslim/Malay) joint celebration, guess who are the majority participants? THe Malaysian Chinese. Why? SImply because there are slightly more Malaysian Chinese who are active in the University. If this is not called respect and appreciation of different cultural practices, I wonder what should it be called. Marriage is everyone's freedom and right. Even if all the Malaysia Chinese do not marry the Malays or Indians, this doesn't mean anything at all. Your mum is obviously not a black african, does it mean your dad discriminate black african? I guess next time you won't marry a Malay as well. Does it mean your dad deicriminate negors? Does it mean you discriminate Malay? Why should I be obliged to know the Malaysian Princes? And pardon me, who are the Malaysian Prince?? Disrespect and discrimination always happen in all the multicultural society, even relative racial homogenous country like China. Few weeks ago I asked the China Chinese lady who worked in the restaurant kitchen if she smuggled to Uk. Guess what is her answer? "How could I be an illegal immegrant, I am a Shanghainese, not FUJIANESE!!" I just couldn't stop laughing loudly in my heart, what a typical regional discrimination prevailing in China!
"The point is your not "Culture is not Chinese nor Native Malaysian", you can’t run for high government office, can’t run as Prime Minister, that is your always a subject to your native ruler, yet you sing your native national anthem, the reality is everything is belongs to the Malaysian natives, I bet inside there home they hate you guys, in which you bring disgrace to the real Chinese. I don't konw how do you define "Chinese". If your definition is narrowed to nationality, I can't help. And you can say all the Taiwanese are not Chinese. All the Hong Kong people, including you, before 1997/07/01 were not Chinese. If you mean ethnicity, I still don't konw how you define ethnic Chinese. Northern Chinese, Middle Chinese and Southern Chinese have different physical appearance, I wonder if you consider them all Chinese. If your Chinese refer to those people who practise Chinese culture, I wonder the where should the culture of lunar new year celebration etc should be classified. So perhaps you should clarify with yourself who are the real Chinese. If happily I am still disregarded as your Chinese, then remember to refute your political leaders when they refer us as "hua qiao" or "hua yi tong pao" or whatever. I never say I have seen all China, you must have created such words to satisfy your thirst for an enemy. So you are a China Chinese? Have you seen all the China? Have you been to every province, have you know how to speak evey Chinese tongue, have you spoken to every Chinese, have you stepped on every square inch of China territory? Hence are you claiming you have seen the whole China?
"Well the truth to fact is, I can’t expect anything from you, which is of course very obvious, you’re illiterate in Minnanhua, (you try to learn few words here and there) what I’m trying to do is educate people who wanted to learn this language, of course your other Malaysian friend here thinks this job is reserve its for his Taiwanese friend ‘Prof Lin” whoever he is, and he seems obsess with everything Taiwan (the Taiwanese educator are so stupid, they even following the Japanese (Katakana or Hiragana whatever it is.. which is of course still derive from Chinese, that's another story) by creating there own Zhuyin, which is so stupid and difficult, which they latter "created" there own Pinyin "as we all know they copy China's pinyin and make some changes", btw it's so funny and stupid Malaysian have there own pinyin for reading Chinese - check this out!!!) , which I doubt he ever set foot on China (Fujian)."
First I have to surrender my honour to you for containing so much information and points in a sentence! How do you know I can't speak Minnanhua? Are you creating your own illusions again? Now you have put me in the frame of trying to learn Minnanhua, and you claim yourself that you are trying to educate people who wanted to learn this language, why do you contradict yourself by saying you can't expect anything from me? Whether I am literate in Minnanhua or not, I still can't see the logic behind your sentence. You disagree or dislike the other people's view, you can always rebut or refute or counter him, through logical statements, not retaliating through emotional statement based on personal feelings. As I have said, the forums in this website are still relatively clean and polite. I hope all the users can have the little manner to maintain the the language and content quality of treads.

Hei hei, I don't know how your story is related to your theme. And I don't know which of my question your are responsing to. I don't know from where you get the idea of me not understanding you going to Fujian to record it. Neither do I know I was helping you to make this thing clear.
"Positively ?? I don’t see you contribute anything positively though, other that trashing the tread with some childish tread ‘La la li la tam pong’, ‘The origin of Mandarin’ and so on."
I am trying to understand the meaning of those Hokkien chant. If I am being childish and filling the forum with nonsense, I wouldn't have got the encouragement and positive feedbacks from other respected users.
"Well to tell you the truth minnan society exist with or without you."
O, great, then why wre you trying to establish the Minnan society again? Are you trying to create a second one? And again, I ahven't mentioned anything about the existence of Minnan society. I don't know on which basis you make this comment. I can't help any further.
"But at least hundred of years afterward, (After China complete it’s Putonghua program ? same as USA and Ireland the native regional language cease to exist) people would look back and say hey some amateur did some recording of Minnanhua sometime between 2005-2006."
If you are trying to record Minnan mp3 not for the real benefit of Minnan culture and language but for your name to be known, again, I can't help but sigh.
"Of course the oversea Chinese can’t do it because they can’t even read or write it, saving the fact we let those Taiwanese do it."
Are Taiwanese considered as oversea Chinese by you? If they are, you are contradicting yourself. If they aren't, why are you irritated by this fact?
"Afterwards they have to let “Chen the man” record some putonghua, (for god sake those accent are horrible) that would be terrific."
Have you listened to Mao Ze Dong, Deng Xiao Ping and Jiang Ze Ming speaking putonghua? Ask yourself if "Chen the man" is worse than them. And I don't know if you know the difference between ROC Guo Yu and China PR pu tong hua? And why you talk about "Chen he man" speaking putonghua? Does it help on your point?
"Just like asking an Indian or Scottish to record English."
Ha ha ha, I can tell you a Newacstle/Middlesbrough local speak much more heavier accent English than those Scottish. And which standard English you are referring to? London English? Indian speaking English is no worse than a Texan American speaking English. In your mind, can American speak English?
Now I have responsed to every sentece you typed. I just want to add a few points here. I never discourage your ambition of recording Minnan mp3 or whatsoever, I never oppose to your proposal. I simply have no idea why you are so resented. I sincerely suggest you to calm yourself down, review what we all have typed, and amend what you have said or thought.
Hope you could do that.
Good luck.

Re: variation of minnan in mp3
No culture.. still want to learn minnanhua what for malaysian should brace the local language bahasa...you can't even define local malaysian culture.. poor you.. I don't need to elaborate further, what I suggest to you is go to the library read more books, go travel to more places and come talk to me later on, marry a native and have a half breeder or maybe like a lot of malaysian with chinese blood hooking up a white, I see a lot of them hanging proud. What a disgrace..... I'm wasting my time with an undergraduate with brain equal to an 10 year old. I think you could join your pal hong, with all those kindergraden responses. Ha !! Ha !! Ha !! I rest my case. I must have tick you off to have you reply to each of my comment. Well I think you should leave some of your strength in washing dishes in a Chinese restuarant in UK. As I have learned a lot of Malaysian with Chinese blood goes to UK and collected dough and illegally. Oh, by the way I when to one of those "Chinese Restuarent in London run by malaysian with Chinese blood" those places are a complete ripoff not only are the food disgusting they even microwave it in front of you.... that's the malaysian way. btw now I know the singaporean hate you guys... crossing the border to work without respecting other people economy...

That is why I said this forum must have a webmaster to delete those posts which have nothing to do with min language studies. In other forum about min language there is a webmaster to delete posts like above by alo
Re: variation of minnan in mp3
Yep!
Sorry to say that, but you guys are pathetic! There's a plethora of fora out there where juveniles keep trashing one another and please feel free to move there. If anybody drops in onto this thread and reads your posts, he'll not be impressed. I'm pretty sure the other serious posters on this forum do not appreciate this, either. So stop to cha si lang and move your ma-hoan private feud out of here. We should be able to do without a webmaster if everybody could behave like a grown-up.

O, I apologise if I overreacted. Thanks the forum owner for deleting the posts. Alo actually suggested a good idea and Hong did provide a good link.

I don't know why my computer can't view the pear movie in this website. I suggest that someone in this forum could find a short simple movie similar to this pear movie, then we the different countries different accents different degree hokkien speakers could record our own narrations of the movie story and upload them to a webiste which everyone is free to access to it and compare with his own accent.
Or anyone has a short simple movie saved in his computer already?

Re: variation of minnan in mp3
Hi Ladies and Gentlemen
I think we are facing a small crisis here. We have wasted so much energy mud slinging, and perhaps lost focus inadvertently.
What is talk about Hong Kong Minan,Malaysian Minan, Singapore Minan, Phillipine Minna? For I know, we share the same root. Take hold of your tempers and do something useful.
As far as I am concerned, I am like an idiot trying very hard to be smart. That is why, I am this forum. I am no expert, for sure, but who is? In discussion where the whole picture is fuzzy, we cannot simply conclude that some others' propositions are 'irrelevant'.
Ah Lo: Do drop me a line at tangoloonokongo@yahoo.co.uk if you want to meet up in China somehow. I can quite easily scoot down to Xiamen over a weekend. I also have some Fujian students studying in my college. Maybe they can help with a suitable 'ice-breaking' to their home folks.
