for sure mostly are from chuanchiu or else how can be the figure is 6.5 m for chuanchiu people in south east asia.we are including jinmen and tongan as chuanchiu too but not as xiamen.

Tjandy, it's interesting - as mentioned by Hong also - that people in Medan (and Penang) mostly are from Cuanciu area but they speak Ciangciu Hokkien. 南安 lam5-ua*1 (nan2an1) and 安溪 an1-khue1 (an1xi1) have been under cuan5ciu1 泉州 (quan2zhou1).

懸 / 縣 for tall is kuai*5 in E-mng & Tang-ua*, kuan5 is Ciangciu & kui*5 in Cuanciu.

In my dialect, 大漢 tua7-han3 can be used to describe that a person is bigger & taller but usually also older.

Nice to hear this expression Niuc. I remember it in a similar usage from my youth. If your uncles and aunts hadn't seen you for a long time (months or years), they would say: "a-io! (or ai-o, it's an exclamation), lu anE tua-han liau!" = "gosh, how you've grown!"

But it would only be said to children.

A large adult, both tall AND (perhaps) a bit fat, would be referred to as "tua-khO2".

Yes, tua7-han3 is usually said to children but in my dialect we can also say 伊比汝較大漢 i1 pi2-ly2 kha3-tua7-han3 = he/she is bigger & older than you (if said to children), = he/she is bigger (taller) than you (virtually to anyone). The more accurate one for the latter sense is tua7-cia4. tua7-kho`1 is big and fat in ours.

Do you know what are the chinese characters for han of tua-han? tua-cai is da4zhi1, tua-kho is da4ge4, tua-han is da4???

I use those 3 phrase exactly like how everyone uses them in this forum.

I also think that Prof.Ang web site is wrong for saying kuan5 is baidu for xiamen but they must be based on some dict.I heard xiamen news from china are not saying kuan.I need an email reply from Prof.Ang.

I can't see clearly the chinese character for kho of tua-kho. Is tai-chai = 大才? Why the "big" here is "tai" while in other examples "tua"?

Tua-chai-chu seems to be da4 cai2 cu2 (big fortune owner), very reasonable.

Engwai,I can see that you don't have time to read.go to above tlls dict type big5 hanzi da to get tai7 for wen du,tua7 and ta7 for baidu. gu1 箍 for koo1 and khoo1 in minnan is also the same hanzi for money.The are some words with tai but some with tua.
The thing is we need time and money to learn minnan.
