I was wondering how many foreign words do we, the Penangite use frequently in everyday discourse and hope you could help me by posting the examples of foreign-origin words in Penang Hokkien. Below I give few examples.

Kangkung

Batu (chiap tou)
to ring (pak den ua)

Scholar like pro.tiu of USM already done the job for 400 malay words in baba malay.I had given the link to buy the article.So I won't repeat here.
There are even a book about Penang hokkien published in Malaysia.There are filipina hokkien book about tagalog borrowing words.
Prof Lirulong of China already wrote article on indonesian borrowing from minnan-about 400 of them too used by indonesian daily like gua .And many other small articles.It will be crazy for me to repeat the links again.

It's interesting to know that 石頭 (stone) is pronounced as chiap tou (thau?) in Penang Hokkien. We say 'cio8-thau5'.

I say "cio(h)8-tau5" in my form of Penang Hokkien.

First I don't have time to read through every link you supply, second, I don't have money to buy the article or the book. I would be grateful if you could just post one link directing me to any website listing foregin words in Penang Hokkien, not Phillipino Hokkien or Indonesia Hokkien.

I have yet to learn the proper way to express Min Nan pronounciation in written Roman alphabets and numerical tones. So maybe my pronounciation is the same as yours but written differently.
