Dear Jerry,

The book “Tracing The Roots Of Chinese Characters: 500 Cases”, by Li Leyi, published by the Beijing Language And Culture University Press presents the evolution of 500 Chinese characters from ancient to modern forms. It includes the following forms: jia gu wen (oracle bone inscription), jin wen (bronze inscription), xiao zhuan (small seal character), li shu (official script), kai shu (regular script), cao shu (cursive writing or grass stroke), xing shu (freehand cursive), and simplified, if applicable.

The English text is horribly written and the printing and general quality of the book is sub-par, but, it does include the evolution of the character 農 (Mand: nong 2, Cant: nung4; agriculture), if you are still interested in finding it.

Dear Sim,

I haven't found anything on-line. If anyone knows of an on-line source, I'd be glad to hear of it. :-)
