Strange though I think I have heard ciong ling and tiong ling roughly frequently.

Will check with my other Hokkien spekang peers to see how they pronounce it.

Hong, we usually read 毅 as ge7. This site http://home.kimo.com.tw/profliim/HARNJI-YM/zh4S.htm gives both ge7 and gi7 as the literary pronunciation (wendu). Is there any difference in their usage (when to use ge7 and when to use gi7)?

My dict put gi7 as wendu ,ge7 as baidu 。So words llike 毅力 is baidu ge-lat 。
毅然 in wendu gi-jian because it is a word from 三國志。Also 嚴毅 in 漢書,
剛毅 in 史記and 荀子。I find dict put a word as baidu even though it is from 論語-士不可不弘毅=hong-ge 心志寬廣堅忍。I need to buy 論語 with minnan pronunciation to check out this one.
Lim is not a writer for big taiwanese dict.,I did write email to him but the answer is very poor.
I recently met a minnan taxi driver in Penang who doesn't know that 韓江 is han-kang but only know han-jiang.
