Just got my two volumes of Bodman's Spoken Amoy Hokkien. It's quite good - although some things are pretty elementary to start with, even from the start there are Amoy constructions and vocabulary that I have never come across.
The romanisation is strange, but I finally understand where one newer member of the board got his tone markings from!

Yep, that's where I got my tone markings from! I do concede that Bodman isn't exactly the best reference for Amoy, but I found that it is a nice repository of day-to-day words and phrases, many of which I never/seldom encountered in my exposure to Penang Hokkien.
