What might be the original character for /theh8/ (sometimes written as 提, 摕, or 挓)? I don't think it's any of those. Thanks.

提 is right without entering tone the5 .There are words using it.As for the second they use 徒结切 along with 屑韵 to figure out entering tone of it.It is like 迭。The meaning is very clear in 說文解字。The last one is cantonese .
