Checking the Hanzi for some basic Hokkien words

Hi, TanTG,

Regretfully, the total system I use is neither the standard one used in this forum, nor mainstream (<embarassed grin>). I have been requested by members of the forum to pick up the standard total numbering system, and I am still working on it!

Part of the reason for my slowness is also because Hokkien is not my native dialect, so I myself am not sure about the exact tones for some of the words I bring up for discussion.

In the meantime, my convention is:
â for high tone (e.g. tân 等)
á for rising tone (e.g. bá 麻)
ă for low tone (e.g. băn 慢)
ā for flat tone (e.g. sā 三)
'a for accented tone (as in t'ŏ 土 vs. tó 圖)

I am aware that this system is inadequate for Hokkien's 8 tones, so I do endeavour to work on th proper number system.
