I recommend acquiring a copy of Lonely Planet's "Cantonese Phrasebook" by Kam Y. Lau, ISBN 0-86442-645-3, as a start. Learning to pronounce correctly can come later, when you start making Cantonese friends. Then, you can learn from them, and it won't cost ya!

How do I get hold of Cantonesephrase book. It is not available in Sri Lanka.If some one can send me a free copy I would be most thankful.
Also any other books that will enable me to learn Cantonese.

Otherwise, try and acquire it through interlibrary loans.

I suggest "colloquial cantonese by keith tong" you will get two free tapes too which are very helpful.
