To say "chase after" or "pursue" in terms of relationships, is the word "kau3"? as in "kui5 kau3 joh2 ngoh5 ge3 mooi1" (he chased after my sister?". I used the word in the wrong tone before "kau1" and was told it was rude!
If i want to say "When do u need to employ people by?" can I say:
"lei5 gei2 si4 yiu3 cheng2 hei2 yan4 a3?" or "lei5 gei2 si4 yiu3 cheng2 joh2 yan4 a3?" - not sure if the aspect of tone should be "hei2" or "joh2"
Ngoh5 m4 jai3 - Im not willing - did i write the right tone for "jai3"?
seung1 hong2 - company (more formal than Gung1 Si1)??? is the tone right?
Drink brandy; yam2 baak6 laan6 dei5 - is the tone right?
how do i say 'dog bark'? is it : Gau2 faai3

Kau4 求 sounds like a proposal to me, as in 求婚. I'd use 追 jeui1 myself.

Joh2 sounds peculiar to me here.

商行 is technically seung1 hong4, but tone sandhi applies to the last syllable.

Gau2 fai6 狗吠. There is a proverb 粵犬吠雪 yuet6 huen2 fai6 suet3, which means the Cantonese dog barks at snow.

To say "chase after" in formally , use "追(juei1)" is more appropriate .
We always say "追女仔(jui1 nui5 jai2)" in Cantonese. But nowadays ,
people in Hong Kong may use "溝(kau1)" this word , especially among young
people . Originally , "溝(kau1)" this word , together with "通(tong1)" , that
means "溝通(kau1 tong1)" is meaning "to communicate with" . But later ,
instead of using "追女仔(jui1 nui5 jai2)" , young people prefer to use
"溝女(kau1 nui2)" just like slang . That's why you were told it was rude.
Recently , besides using "溝(kau1)" among young people , people start to
use "[界刂](gaai3)" to say "chase after" . For me , it's totally rude .
The originally meaning of "[界刂](gaai3)" is "to cut" , for example "我用[界刂]
刀[界刂]紙(ngo5 yung6 gaai3 dou1 gaai3 ji2)" (I use cutter to cut paper) .
Although some magazines start to use this verb , but it's so rude for me .
