Hi
I was thinking about how Japanese was slightly similar to Hokkien such as (I have no idea how to write Japanese so I'll write it like POJ):
J: Itchhi - "one"
H: It - One + Ji/Di - Two
J: Ni - "two"
H: Ji/Di
J: Sam - "three" (probably more like Cantonese)
H: Sann
J: Go - "five"
H: Goo
J: Ji Kan - "Time"
H: si kan
Why are they similar? Is it an influence of one language on another?
Another question is: I think the Hokkien word for "sorry" is "tui bu khi". Is this correct? Also, if it isn't, what is the exact POJ for this phrase?
Thanks
