If 蓬山 is correct you should be 泉州安溪 origin instead of 龙溪榜山

I have foung three tombstones of the early generations of the family Lie. The stones of the father and one of the sons (died resp. 1890 and 1907)mention the name Peng Shan (蓬山). The tombstone of a second son (died 1916) mentions Long Xi (龍溪).

That is why I always thought that Peng Shan is a part of the city Long Xi (Zhangzhou) or maybe very close to it.

Why do you now think of more northern origin (Quanzhou, Anxi)

regards,
Elmer

There are 龙溪 in 安溪蓬莱
www.qzhnet.dnscn.cn/qzh140.htm
click 蓬莱镇 above
Just type 安溪蓬山 you will get a lot but you can't get 漳州蓬山。

You need to see if there is mentioned 福斗、五狮 ,etc in that 龙溪 stone to confirm it。People like 林梧桐(Genting malaysia) is 蓬莱联盟案山。 This web page mentions there are 蓬莱龙溪 people in Indonesia http://baike.baidu.com/view/459869.htm
蓬莱 is 镇, 龙溪 is 村 inside it , 福斗 is area .
You can see books written during Tang period 蓬山=蓬莱。But here could be more about there is 蓬山(mountain) in 蓬莱镇。
Some stone mentioned only 村,some only 镇.I can see this in malaysia almost daily.

If your surname is 李,you could be originally from 蓬莱竹林,鸿福 or two others mentioned in above website.I find that by using that website I haven' t found surname which didn't match.
