I am hoping to discover what the word "Moo" might mean within a Chinese parade dragon's name. Specifically, the Dragon's name is "Moo Lung" and I know that lung means dragon, but Moo seems to be eluding me. Moo Lung is a very old parade dragon from Marysville, CA. His body has been lost to time, but his head remains with us today at the Bok Kai Temple. He is believed to be the first Chinese parade dragon to come to the United States in the 1880s. He traveled from Marysville to many communities in the US, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago to the World's Fair, and a few other locations, too... he was retired in 1937. He is occasionally referred to as "Gum Lung" - Golden Dragon.
Any help would be appreciated on the translation of Moo. Also, if you have any information about Moo Lung that you would like to share, please do....
