Dou jeh means thank you but when I was watching a cantonese film someone said "dou jeh" and it the subtitles said in english "sorry". When the english subtitles said thank you it was different. They said something like something with a zi on the end. Do you know what they ment.

yes, "do jeh" is thank you,just this mean,no others.
"m(唔) guai" is also "thank you",and it is used to express "please" or" sorry".
"m hou yi xi" is "please" or "sorry" .
