In my opinion, this forum has already
"overtaken" the Hakka forum since the
number of non-noise posts is much greater.

Unfortunately, few of the posts on the
Hakka forum have anything to do with
Hakka specifically rather than Chinese
in general, or "me too" posts asking for
the "Chinese alphabet" or tattoo requests
that are difficult to satisfy (name
renderings, insufficient context for
the sense of the word desired, etc).

There's nothing glorious about a
Cantonese forum having more interest and
discussion than its sister Hakka forum--
it's just another example of the decline
of Hakka and loss of its speakers to
Cantonese and Mandarin.

Dear readers,

It's a shame they didn't get rid of all the postings requesting tattoos and alphabets. But, then 90% of the postings would be gone from the Chinese language forum, Mandarin language forum and Hakka language forum.

Thomas should find it much easier to delete entire threads using this new forum system (should he wish to of course).

I've also suggested a forum exclusively for name/tattoo requests - it could have a prominent link at the top of it to a page that spells out the do's and don't for requests.
