Hello,

I grew up in Pangkal Pinamg and moved to California in 1986 and am still living in Southern California. I speak Hakka (I'm also a "Thong Ngin" or Hakka ). I would like very much to know other Hakka's from Bangka. Please send me an e-mail and keep in touch.

Best regards,
Mia

My name is Bun Chai Tet.
I was born in Bangka Island, Indonesia. It is tin mining island in South China Sea. There are about 330.000 Chinese Hakka inhabitans, and make 33 % population in this new province in Indonesia.
My grand father told me that about 200-300 years ago, many Hakkas came here for tin mining.
Is very intersesting for me to know others Hakka in other part of world.
Do you know more about history of migration Hakka people in this islands ?

Hello Mr. Bun Chai Tet,

It was nice to read your e-mail and I was wondering did you grow up in Pangkal Pinang? If you did, did you attend SMA Santo Josef? and what year? are you still living in Bangka? I do miss Bangka especially the delicious foods. Please drop me an e-mail, many thanks.
