{??} [就]有人倒

{???} there’ll be someone {knocked over}

I think this may be:

liâm-piⁿ 臨邊 meaning "suddenly" - it is in Taiwanese and Amoy, but perhaps it didn't get all the way through the Straits to Penang.

Is this really “chong5”/ , as in "to rush"? It sounds like "siong" when I replay it.
衝 tshiong1

What is the last syllable - character, pronunciation, and meaning?
忍 lun2
If your pager rings, you have to resist [the urge to check it]

Andrew took a guess at “heN, heN! license tioh {balik kho}” with no known meaning. Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

One possibility is "balik" (= Malay "to go back") + "kho2" (= "to an exam") = "to have to re-sit your driving test, because you lost your licence for using your mobile while driving".
I wonder if "kho2" could be 扣 in Mandarin (kou4, confiscate)

不要急著把命送
bù yào jí-zhù bă mìng sòng

Is my translation “Don’t hurry and lose your life” of the Mandarin correct?
I would translate it as "Don't be so eager to lose you life"

In practice I've only heard this pronounced as liam5-mi1.

Hi duaaagiii,

Great to see you back here :-). I've not been posting the last week or so because I'm travelling. Should be settled down a bit more now, so will be able to post a bit, but still less than I usually do.

Thanks for your inputs. Welcome back!
