I'm reading a lot of Clavell lately, and the one i'm ready now and it takes place in hong kong. i believe cantonese is the language they speak there. I could be wrong. But please translate these 2, which i'm sure are derogotry terms but im not sure
fan-quai
quai loh
also plz
the difference be tai-pan and loh-pan also please. thank you

The foreign devil, and devil man, ie, westerners.

I heard once that tai-pan means big-boss. Loh-pan is similar, but means the boss of a business, usually the person you work for.

fan-quai means come back
quai loh also means come back!hehe
