Yeah, I think the "ka" in this construct is not very well known. When Ah-bin gets back from finishing his dissertation, he can tell us whether he heard it to any great extent in Penang when he was there (or on the podcasts).

I have personally still never heard "ka" in place of kòe 較, and I wouldn't know about it unless I had read about it here.
I was talking to people who lived around Chulia Street, and they used the khah…kòe 較...過 construction. I asked a few people in English how to say "he is taller than me", and often got the other pí…khah 比…較 construction as well. Some speakers use both, I have listened out for it on the PGHK podcast and heard one speaker use both constructions at different times. I wonder if certain parts of Georgetown used khah…kòe 較...過 more than other parts because of the concentration of Cantonese speakers?
