Hmm, there are a few possiblitites. What are the tones? What is the context? I'll just thow out one suggestion.

serng = as in serng to want (mandarin: xiang)
ching as in clear (qing)

serng would be more like..sérng
with a rising tone on the e. sérng ching, almost like surng (like in spanish with "sur")

So, you do you mean 想請? Are those definitely the characters?
If so, it should be /seung/ /cheng/ in colloquial Cantonese meaning "to want to hire". As in:

我想請一個外國教師. "I want to hire a foreign teacher."
