I am still learning cantonese, slowly...
I have put a little project on the web that beginners can print out and make a notepad which helps revision.
It isn't quite finished yet but I would love to know what you think.

I took a look at your notepads. Pretty cool. I'm not sure if they're appropriate for kids though. I have 2 and I wouldn't buy the pads because it wouldn't hold up to wear and tear, and they wouldn't appreciate the artistry. Also, as a notepad I would expect them to write on it. There are no lines or boxes so they can learn to space the character or write in a straight line.
Even the flashcards I buy them are having a tough time surving and it's pretty thick cardboard. I find that kids learn better with colorful pictures to illustrate so they can identify the character independently.
I think it would be better to market the pads to adults as decorative learning tools. Also, in reading the combination of words you have below the main character. Are you trying to teach correct written Chinese (i.e. Mandarin) or spoken Cantonese? The terms seem to be correct (I didn't read all of them), but if you're trying to teach the spoken Cantonese you'll need to change some them (ex. ming nian more common when speaking to say chut nian). Please also double check your definition. Fen sum - divided heart, means distracted. I've ever heard it used as a verb before.
They'd be nice as notecards too. Good luck!

Portugal in full should be as "葡萄牙" rather than "葡國"
Italy should be written as "意大利" not "意大俐"
Sweden is "瑞典"
Denmark is "丹麥"
"蘇聯" is USSR and Russia should be written as "俄羅斯"
Australia is "澳洲"

Just to clarify, it was never my intention to try and sell these notepads. On the contrary, I spent much longer designing them in HTML for the web (instead of using something like Microsoft Word) so that people would be able to print them out and make the notepads themselves.
I think you are right, the ones up there now would be better for adults. If I get time I will put up some others though, which may be more suitable for children.
My website is for written chinese and spoken cantonese but the notepads are really just for learning characters - the example words are just a bit extra to hopefully show how simple characters may be combined. The problem I have is that I don't know very much myself, so I am using words that I learn in class or that I read in books. Thanks for correcting fen sum, I think I copied that from a "top 1000 characters" kind of book but I have changed the definition to yours now.

sorry, i have overlooked Spain, it should be "西班牙".
for "last year", i think "去年"/"舊年(slang)" is more common than "昨年" (frankly, i've never heard of "昨年" before).but pls dont mix up with "舊時", "舊時" means long time ago not "last hour"
also, i found the phrase "一個時正" a bit strange. can you tell me why "Good Morning (alternative)" = "遲?屭?.
i think "goodnite/evening" can be "晚安". say "晚安" for goodbye at night/evening (i think it is too formal).
"早?W"="goodnite+goodbye<slang>" and sometimes it means "sweet dream". REMEMBER: the phrase "早?W" MUST be pronounced very very soft; OTHERWISE, it means "(YOU) GO TO HELL"

The jyutping link you sent is very interesting. Do you know if there is anywhere I can get a similar file but with extra information, such as the number of strokes and meanings? My idea is to put all the characters in a database to randomly generate printable tests and revision sheets.
My site is growing slowly, I have been trying to convert it to be viewable on a pocket PC too. I am woefully short of my target to learn 1500 characters by the end of the year though *:-( Learning chinese is the hardest thing I have ever studied in my life.
