need help translating a Tattoo

Hello,
my g/f has a tattoo on her lower back of this character:

She says it means friendship. But when i try to translate the word friendship from english to chineese i come up with two characters:

Is her tattoo missing a character or does her single character also mean friendship?

Hi mike, Yes, your friend's tattoo means friendship also. In Chinese word, sometimes it implies a same meaning with only one word. For example, friend is 朋友 however, only 友 http://www.chinalanguage.com/cgi-bin/vi ... e=internal also means the same.
