guanxi

Post by rathpy »

I have been reading the book "Jan Wong's China", and she talks about corruption and about 'guanxi'... "Guanxi meant 'connections.' But it was really about contacts, networking, influence-peddling, the old-boys network, cronyism and nepotism - all woven into one critical web."

Could someone please provide the characters? Is this term also commonly used in Cantonese?
