Re: Hokkien Names! please help!
Hi Leow
饒 = jiau5 (Ciangciu/Zhangzhou accent) or liau5 (Cuanciu/Quanzhou accent)
皓 = ho7
然 = jian5 or lian5
瀛 = eng5 or ing5
浩 = ho7
升 = seng1 or sing1
証 = ceng3 or cing3, some romanized ceng3 (c & ch system) as cheng3 (ch & chh system)
Please note that Hokkien romanization systems are different from Pinyin (a considerably good system to romanize Mandarin but not suitable to romanize Hokkien).

Hi Hong,
I think what happens with new people on this forum is that they post a reply, they don't see that their post has been entered, so they try again, and when that still doesn't seem to work, they try yet again by creating a new topic.
I remember that that happened to me twice when I first joined this forum (and I seem to notice it as a pattern for new posters .
Thanks for your link to the Hokkien speaking.
Sim.

Please use your braIN TO THINK ABOUT IT?

You are welcome. Congratulations for your coming son

勻 = un5
斤 = kun1 or kin1
今 = kim1
元 = guan5 (some romanize it as goan5)
尹 = un2
升 = sing1 or seng1
仁 = lin5 or jin5
友 = iu2
You can find Hokkien pronunciation of Chinese characters here but please notice the differences in romanization system or tonal indicator:

Sorry for the typo: "literal pronunciation" should be "literary pronunciation".
