I get the articles from Prof Lien via email.Sadly I cannot receive any reply for the other 20 papers I requested.In that web site some theses have been scanned by them like 八音定?which make it easier for us to order directly from them.It is not costly because it just involve postage and photocopying cost.But for the rest we have to talk to each university and sign up something.I am waiting for my sister in Taiwan to find them and photocopy them directly .I promise if she can find that thesis on Tongan ,i will send it to you .
It is a must to have that Tongan thesis because 3 books by Lirulong,etc didn't talk much about Tongan but mainly on NanAn,Changdai.

I suggest you go to http://www.baidu.com to download about 25 sample pages of a new book on quanzhou .type in 泉州??世?.It is good book with correct benzi for an ni ,etc.Get it from cache pages if the links are too bad.

from the pearstroies.org recording ,I find that it is correct to 大概 instead of agak.May be chuan and chiang don't use this word.

Siu*1 is the correct pronunciation for 傷 if the meaning is "too" (as in "too much"; equal to 太 tai4 in Mandarin). If 傷 pronounced as siong1, the meaning is injury/hurt. Douglas' dictionary also have tio8 siu*1 for 着傷 (wounded/injured), we usually say tio8 siong1.
Beside 大概 tai7 khai3 we can also say 差不多 cha1 put4 to1 / cha1 m7 to1 -> cham1 to1.

I heard from taiwanese movie said siong for the meaning in dai,maybe I misheard after so many times.
In WangJianshe book ºÊÖ(dating)is a guhanyu from that book but taiwan keep on saying it is a word from local taiwanese,some even say japanese .I think wang is right .
From above recording I heard one speaker say kooniu for girl ,maybe the word chabo is for prostitute in Xiamen.

阿宏上菜 where the host did say siong (too sweet,sour ). Did anyone of you do so?
