I too believe that this certainly happened - quite a number of times through all the centuries. That's one of the reasons that I believe that the *idea* of being able to rise up in society - as "theoretically" outlined in the Chinese conception - is in itself such an important thing (as I said earlier).niuc wrote:... some poor people did work very hard to send their children to school.
