Learn Chinese with Rocket Chinese - Anyone tried it?
Re: Learn Chinese with Rocket Chinese - Anyone tried it?
I do not know Rocket Chinese but if you are looking for a good Chinese Mandarin learning software, I can recommend you to have a look at L-Ceps Personaltrainer Mandarin. I use the program personally since a couple of months and I am very happy with it. It uses a very intuitive multimedia approach and you can use both chinese characters and pinyin. It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux.

It can be seen that nowaday Chinese people live almost everywhere, so it's is easy to find someone to teach you directly, and maybe you can teach them English or anything in exchange. I do think that face-to-face is the best way to learn a languages.

Was looking for Chinese learning platforms and came across this useful forum. Yup, agree with hippocampus that learning face-to-face will help. But being a Chinese by race who can't speak Chinese, it can get pretty embarassing I found this interesting video on learning Chinese through reading comics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv2qGjR5-W4 Anyone tired that before? Seems fun.

Hey Leewk, I'm not able to speak Chinese, but some of my friends do, and they tell me that it's not difficult to learn to speak, but to write. You even need only some month training to be a relatively good Chinese speaker

I think Chinese is one of the most difficult language in the world. I have tried to learn several times but did not learn properly..
