Hi everyone,

>Diam
You can see quite clearly that this is related to "Jing". -ng, -m, -n difference is common in Min Nan.
Example: Steam/Cook by Steam: MinNan="Tim" Mandarin="Zheng"

>Duit
Greek or may be Hebrew: A very small amount of money, equals to 2 peser(s).

>Mata
This words is shared by many human being.
Viet: M{a(´}t, Burmese: Majk, Malay: Mata
Can anyone confirm whether this is Austronesian or Sino-Tibetan Word?
I assume that this come from "Mongoloid", can anyone confirm the language of pure-Negroid Austronesians also call it the same way? What is the term of this in Thai?

>Sien
I think this derives from "no work to do", "leisure" 閒 (xián in Mandarin.)
Does "No work to do" --> "bored" seem logical?

Thank You

qrasy's theory is wrong and doesn't study in detail.
静is cheng in minnan.蒸is also cheng in minnan.The minnan special word for tim is 火+ 尋.
I have to add that above china's web site don't use normal tone like TLPA of taiwan.Rusheng are 7 and 8. 5th in taiwan is 2 in here.
Also siau is not only has a meaning of crazy but 沉溺,沉迷 indulging.There are a few hanzi for it.In 5 th tone ,it means 精液sperm?

"ya3" and "sian7":

"ya3" = 疒+益 = bored
"sian7" = 嬗 = tired
Combining the two together "ya3 sian7" = tired
However, in Penang Hokkien "sian7" is used to mean both tired and bored. I may be wrong but this is from my personal observation among my Penang friends.
