Re: english to chinese
"translation"
I've come to this chat out of desparation. I mean, it hardly seems fair to ask those who speak Chinese to interpret this, that, and the other thing in a chat forum. But I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere. "Guest" suggested in a post on Tue Mar 01, 2005 1:11 am that http://zhongwen.com/ would be a helpful site. Unfortunately, like every other site I've visited thus far, all this one seems to provide are translations of English in the form of Chinese characters. Great for tatoos, to be sure, but what I'm looking for is a dictionary that translates English to Chinese phonetically (using the English alphabet). I've seen this done in children's books, and there are examples of that sprinkled throughout the forum. Is anyone aware of a site I can utilize extensively?
And what on earth is all the anymosity about on this site? Why am I coming across such nasty posts. I've really never seen anything like it except on Neo-Nazi sites. Hardly seems in the spirit of the other connections being made here.
