meaning of two words

Post by matt »

Hi

Anyone know what: 1) "miu" means and what 2) "gup siu/sing" mean? For the gup siu/sing i'm not too sure if i remember correctly...it was gup + something else...it was releated to heath/disease?

Thanks.. Matt

1) miu could be a lot of things, the ones that come to mind are miu5 jung1, meaning a second (like the kind that 60 seconds to a minute) or miu6, a temple.

2) almost assuredly gap7 sing3 meaning "acute" as in gap7 sing3 beng6 "acute illness"

"Miu" sounds like "妙" , i.e witty or brilliant
