how do you say in Mandarin CANTONESE ?
( if possible with tones)
I can speak only Cantonese, but no Mandarin.
But I often meet people , who speak only mandarin, some speak some Cantonese too.
So I want to say to them in Mandarin :
" I can speak (only) Cantonese "
and
" Do you speak Cantonese ?"
what are these sentences in Mandarin ?
Thanks !

Tom,
I'm not nearly an expert. But I think I know the word and sentences you are looking for.
Cantonese- Guang1 Dong1 Hua4, Yue2 Yu3
I can only speak Cantonese- Wo3 zhi3 hui4 jiang1 shuo1 Guang1 Dong2 hua4.
Can you speak Cantonese?- Ni3 hui2 jiang1 shuo1 Guang1 Dong1 hua4 ma?
Hope that helps.

A bit correction to IronMonkey's reply:
Cantonese- Guang3 Dong1 Hua4, Yue4 Yu3
(some correction with your tones here)
I can only speak Cantonese- Wo3 zhi3 hui4 shuo1 Guang3 Dong1 hua4.
Can you speak Cantonese?- Ni3 hui4 shuo1 Guang3 Dong1 hua4 ma?
(here I deleted Jiang for you, because Jiang and Shuo mean the same therefore only one of them is enough.)

Thanks a lot, that helps me a lot !
Acctually I looked up some Mandarin dictionaries, but I couldn´t find
the word CANTONESE.
I have one last question :
does Yue4 Yu3 also mean Cantonese ?
so I can use both words ?
which one is used more ?
Guang3 Dong 1 Hua4 is nearly the same like in Cantonese:
Gwong Dung Wa, so very easy to remember !

People say "guang3 dong1 hua4" in ordinary speech. "Yue4" is the proper name for the dialect group.

"Yue4 Yu3" is the official name for "Guang3 Dong1 Hua4", in which "Yue4" means the GuangDong (Canton) province of China, and "Yu3" means "language".
