Well, you're already on the right website. They have also an online dictionary here. Click on the link below, then on "Hanyu Pinyin" and write "liu". Then click on search and you'll find lots of characters that are pronounced as "liu". There are several that are used as a family name.

Well I think you'd have to figure out what phonetic system that "Liu" is, Hanyu Pinyin or Cantonese pinyin or others. e.g. "Liu" in Cantonese pronounces "Liao" in Mandarin(Hanyu Pinyin).

Looking at the rest of your names, I don't think you can use standard English to "find" your Chinese surname and say that it's the Cantonese "Lau" Mandarin "Liu"
Where are you from and what region of China are you're ancestors from? That can affect the pronounciation and transliteration of your surname. Ex. My friend if from Indonesia and she spells her last name as Ko. The character is tall and in Mandarin would be Gao. Another friend spells his last name as Ko, but it's the character "gu".
found 2 characters for the surname "Liu"

There's 2 characters that I found for the last name "Liu." .....but unfortunately I have NO clue how to write Chinese characters on the computer! (I'm just learning the language).
Anyways:
--> Liu (2nd tone) [2 radicals; a) small stroke above a horizontal line w/ 2 crossing "X" shaped strokes underneath b) 2nd radical, a small vertical stroke w/ a longer "J" shaped stroke right beside it]
--> Liu (3rd tone) = willow [look up willow in english/mandarin dictionary to find character]
