Hello,

I'm looking a good Chinese name for a girl. Something that means
"young and special and making a difference"? For young and special I can think of qing and zhen, but I would perfer to have an expert (native speaker) help me.

Thanks,

Ming Che

i want to help. but your requirement of "something meaning young and special and making a difference" is too broad and too vague. people can have different perceptions on the same word. please give more specific requirements. also, would you usually pronounce your name in Mandarin (Putonghua) or Cantonese or other dialects? different dialects will be different. also, what's your last name? different last names will make the whole name different.
by the way, for your info, qing:
- in simplied chinese (code: GB2312): 青
- in traditional chinese (code: Big5): 青
- qing chun means young

zhen:
- in simplied chinese (code: GB2312): 真
- in traditional chinese (code: Big5): 真
- tian zhen means innocent or naive

Jess,

Thank you for replying.=)

Oh, sorry, she didn't give me any more info. Anyway, I think we will only use Mandarin Chinese.

That's not the zhen I was talking about. I mean the one that looks like jade and hair...

Okay, this is what I've found so far: I sure hope you can read the zhongwen

(倩), qing (琴) zither, lei(蕾) bud, lei qing (麗清) beautiful, yu yan (语蔫),xue er (雪儿)snow child, yu (瑜)flawless gem, liu hong(柳 红)willow, yu xue(玉雪)jade snow, zhen (真) true, ai zhen (嫒珍) beloved daughter precious

I'm am not really sure about all the meanings, if you could add anything, that would be nice.=)

xie xie,

John
