Re: Question
Does Chiangchiu say hi5, ti1 etc. Penang says hu5, tu1, tu7, chu2, but kin7, khi3 etc.
What is the hiong5 in "jit8-thau5 hiong5"?
I couldn't download the .doc file.

Re: Question
Hi Andrew,
The generality of mandarin vowels is "ang" whose literary form in Emng and Cuanciu is "iong", and in Ciangciu is "iang". There is usually a medial consonant "i" in these words, but a few ones in madarin are not included.
i.e. (the first one is Emng(Cuanciu) accent, the next one is Ciangciu accent.)
We also say "hiong5" in jit8-thau5-hiong5.
