Windows language support

I use English version of Windows with Chinese (PRC) input language support. There are some words not available in Chinese (PRC) input language support but available in Chinese (Taiwan). For example, the words 覬覦. The words have their simplified versions and the ping yin is ji4 yu2 but I cannot find it in Chinese (PRC). Is it because the keyboard input support software is not complete or because they are removed from the Mainland Chinese language?

It's likely your input method. I run an English version of Windows and use the Chinese (PRC) - QuanPin input method. I can type the simplified characters without problem with this input method.

They certainly have not been removed from the Mainland Chinese repertoire.

Yes it's the input method which has problem. I was using Microsoft pinyin IME 3.0 I tried shuangpin input method and the words were there. Any idea why Microsoft pinyin IME 3.0 has this problem?
