Hi

Whats the difference between the three words 会，可以and 能. They all mean can but what's the difference? I think 可以 means allow but I'm not sure.

会means you have the ability to do something.
eg; I can sing. I can't sing for you , because I have a sore throat today. 我会唱歌。但是今天我不能给你唱，因为我的嗓子疼。

能means you not only have the ability,but also be willing to do.
eg; I can teach you Chinese,because I have the ability

可以means between 能 and 会 I think.
most you can use 可以 like you say.
