I am confused about a phrase

hāo 掉 (in Mandarin)

which I believe is used to describe food that is not fresh or has gone stale. I have no idea where I picked it up from. Any ideas? Thanks.

The pinyin of the character is diao4. It means: to drop, to fall, to fade, to lose.

The phrase could be 齁掉。
齁's definition is here:

掉 merely marks the status of completion.
