Shanghainese and other variations of Wu
Hello. what is the difference between Shanghainese and other variations and dialects of Wu? Is it basically the same, or is it like regionalistic Wu?

It's a "regionistic" Wu.
Wu is an umbrella term for one of the seven major dialects of China, which is spoken in many cities/provinces to the east of China.
