Chinese for everyone is a very intelligent and easy way to learn chinese,it gives you the resources you need and show you how to use them for learning this language.
I sincerly never thought i will be learning chinese only by reading a book, but then i discovered chinese for all,and it looked so clear and easy.
Unlike other language books,Chinese for all gives you not only great tips for learning chinese words ,expressions, pronunciation, but also gives you helpfull and very interesting information about the chinese culture and how to behave around chinese people when visiting china.
This book is a real treasure, don't hesitate to buy it,you won't regret it! Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Reviewer & Student, January 15, 2008

This review is from: Chinese for Everyone: Chinese For All Ages And Learning Styles (Paperback)
The language teaching styles utilized in this book are a combination of conversational scripts, sentence structuring and visual cues that enable the reader to teach themself. I was a student of the author for over a year and found this combination to be VERY helpful in learning an additional language. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

I bought this book last January because I wanted to learn Chinese. I was in a bookstore and I bought this book because I loved the cover and the content was interesting. After reading a few pages, I learn how to write Chinese charachters. It's not that easy! But with this book everything seems easier. This book is great because you learn the language but also the Chinese culture. I have never been in China but I plan on visiting this country. So I hope that I will be able to speak some Chinese thanks to this book and of course a tutor!!! Why no voting buttons? The book includes pronounciation tips, illustrations such as Sherlock Holmes, Einstein, and emperors. I learned so much that my Chinese friends are impressed and recommend this book to anyone. Morever, I learn so much about culture such as Chinese manners, Valentine's day, Ruan Lin Yu 'Chinese Greta Garbo..'. Posted March 2, 2008, 12:41 PM EST: I have used this book for a few months now and find it provides a great overview of the language. The introductions are thorough, so if you don't get it all at first pass it is a nice reference to return to later in the studies. THe topics are practical for a business traveler, but would also apply for a tourist or just someone interested in picking up conversational Mandarin. THere is a lot of repetition of nouns, which is very helpful... this means you can be introduced to a new subject using familiar bits of previous lessons, which eases the process considerably. All around, a great book for both the beginner and the 2nd/3rd year student who wants to pick up some new grammar techniques.

I learned how to position my tongue, my lips to pronounce the consonnants and vowels in Chinese. I also apply the method to practice the tones. I really enjoy the illustrations of Sherlock Holmes, Einstein. it is outstanding.
