Several things in your post were interesting.
First, U implied that Catholic Chinese in Indonesia practice ancestory worship. That's interesting. The Bible does say it's a no-no, but Catholics do interesting things.
Second, U speak bahasa Palembang at home instead of bahasa Melayu. In Surabaya, for example, AFAIK, all the orang Cina pretty much speak bahasa Melayu (bahasa Indo) way better than bahasa Jawa. So in Palembang, U guys are more local.
Third, the "Indonesian Mandarin" that U mention is shared with M'sia and Thailand. What it really is is a kind of Mandarin where some historical features such as the final stops have been restored. This is the first time I've heard of that kind of Mandarin being spoken in Indonesia. Thanks for that.
Fourth, U pronounce YOU as "di". There is one area of Coanciu where people talk like this, namely the seaward, maritime part of Coanciu. The Philippines and parts of Taiwan were colonized by people from this area. I wasn't aware that they went to Sumatra too. Very cool.
Fifth, U don't seem to be trying to learn Hokkien. U probably think it's impossible. But U could actually do it if U wanted! Take it a little at a time. Never accept Mandarin as a replacement for Mandarin. Mandarin is like bahasa Indo -- just a tool. Your heritage language is bhs Hokkien!
Last, I want to ask U what U call Palembang in Hokkien -- is it Kukang? And what do U think about that name? Personally, I love it.

Oh, hi! I am new member here! I like this community, its fun! Lol... I am Indonesian too, I live in Medan, and yeah I can speak Medan Hokkien fluently, but my Mandarin is very bad lol... I speak Medan Hokkien everyday in home, school, etc, and Bahasa Indonesia to native people, sometimes they said some Medan Hokkien words lol... They sometimes asked me to teach them Medan Hokkien lol, this was fun! Haha
